James Jay Edwards:

Eye On Horror The official podcast of

Jacob Davidson:

Been kind of having some ups and downs. I

James Jay Edwards:

Use the pain, inspire your writing is going to

Jacob Davidson:

No, dude, that's the thing it hurts so much. I

James Jay Edwards:

Oh, that's even worse. Also with us as your

Jonathan Correia:

I have such fantastic news.

James Jay Edwards:

Let's hear it.

Jonathan Correia:

You ready for this?

Jacob Davidson:

Right?

Jonathan Correia:

So I pre ordered Doritos 3D chips from spend at least $35 and like I was just like, you know what,

James Jay Edwards:

You know that he's pumped about these chips

Jacob Davidson:

And he was psyched when he pre ordered

Jonathan Correia:

well that's because Jacob I believe you also

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, they did.

Jonathan Correia:

See that's why I'm excited cuz I was like "Oh

Jacob Davidson:

I ordered some off of ebay and they are good.

Jonathan Correia:

It's been a whirlwind because I've had so

James Jay Edwards:

Yeah, I was gonna say speaking of orders

Jonathan Correia:

I lucked out because I noticed around the it was looking like they were gonna cancel that on me. Because

James Jay Edwards:

For those who are not in the know, Deep

Jacob Davidson:

20-20 movie collection?

Jonathan Correia:

Yes. It's like they're 20 not so, so popular

James Jay Edwards:

But there are good ones.

Jonathan Correia:

They're still great. Yeah,

James Jay Edwards:

yeah. And it was um, and it was 20 bucks. And

Jonathan Correia:

dude, I yeah, I bought it a while ago. I I'll just keep it but I paid$70.

James Jay Edwards:

So yeah, they had it for 20 and it's one of my order was cancelled. And I think everybody else did too

Jonathan Correia:

well. And that's the thing is it wasn't insane. Like even I was like, I don't need a complete series of

James Jay Edwards:

There's one guy on Twitter who posted a

Jacob Davidson:

Couple people claimed they did. Yeah, there was there was a few more,

Jonathan Correia:

Which kudos to you guys.

Jacob Davidson:

But that's we're jealous.

Jonathan Correia:

I mean, it's it's a roll of the dice, man, through and saying, "Oh, I don't have this item in stock." And

James Jay Edwards:

Well pisses me off about it is they only right. You refunded the rest bitches.

Jonathan Correia:

They they refunded mine, the only weird

James Jay Edwards:

That may have been what was there do with mine it show up. For more money later. I found a copy of the out bought it, when it came it was one of those stupid little four

Jonathan Correia:

So he sent me the wrong item just so you would dude realize what he had and didn't want to sell it to me for

James Jay Edwards:

Yeah. And it was totally on purpose. He Yes, sneaky bastard

Jonathan Correia:

online shenanigans.

Jacob Davidson:

chicanery

Jonathan Correia:

she can or

James Jay Edwards:

He was cool about the refund and all. Yeah,

Jacob Davidson:

I actually had a good experience on eBay recently

Jonathan Correia:

Thats a cool title.

Jacob Davidson:

Oh, yeah. And isn't that does a great title?

Jonathan Correia:

It's just like, even if you're not that

Jacob Davidson:

oh, that they do.

Jonathan Correia:

They seem like it could be a jazz album title.

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, no, just they get really inventive. And,

Jonathan Correia:

Is that proven? Is that for theory?

Jacob Davidson:

Okay. I mean, I'm just okay, I'm just spin

Jonathan Correia:

Jacob with you. When you and I make our

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, we're gonna go even longer than The

Jonathan Correia:

Oh, yeah. We got to go longer than Dr.

Jacob Davidson:

But anyway, yeah. So that I do want to plug is comi- that's commissioned by this small Italian town in the people start getting killed off one by one. And there's like a Laughing Windows, I recommend giving it a watch.

James Jay Edwards:

I think we've all seen a bunch of stuff that

Jacob Davidson:

No, I haven't seen that yet. episode, so let's kind of let's play a little ketchup. Um, I

James Jay Edwards:

Seen Hunter Hunter? Hunter Hunter is it

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, I have I haven't watched it. But it did this wolf. So the husband is going to go hunt this killer did not see that. Holy shit. I did not see that. Holy shit. I

Jonathan Correia:

No, I heard really good things. And Hunter were like, "Oh, that's not how gun, guns work. real gun

Jacob Davidson:

Equalizer?

Jonathan Correia:

Oh, man, I actually just finally watched show, reboot coming with Queen Latifah?

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, I saw that on Twitter about

Jonathan Correia:

No one told about that. Okay, that I'm

Jacob Davidson:

I also went to the driving again recently. This got out of jail for eight years after like, he was in the middle decides to go to Helsinki, Finland, and almost immediately represented by kind of this Ty, Tyler Durden esque version of

Jonathan Correia:

Damn

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, so it's Bloody Hell. And it's so good I

Jonathan Correia:

Oh of course. I mean like if you really like a

Jacob Davidson:

Oh yeah

Jonathan Correia:

I know. I know. I said before the only way

Jacob Davidson:

I'm with you know it says it the the last few

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah, I think I saw a King of the Monsters

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, same here in laser IMAX. Yeah, I

James Jay Edwards:

I saw it in 4DX.

Jonathan Correia:

Ooh, so much shaking so much, Great.

James Jay Edwards:

Yeah. Oh, I loved the rain scenes in the

Jonathan Correia:

I still say Magic Mike XXL would be a great

Jacob Davidson:

And who doesn't want some Joe Manganiello sweat.

Jonathan Correia:

Oh, man, especially when he realizes the

Jacob Davidson:

Oh, now Rampage. That was a 4DX movie. Oh, yeah.

Jonathan Correia:

Now speaking of drive-in, I actually went so

Jacob Davidson:

Same here I did that exact same double feature.

Jonathan Correia:

It was such a great, two movies to put car cuz my car is really good surround sound in it. So it's did our top 10s before I saw that movie, because that would

James Jay Edwards:

but then the internet would have crucified

Jonathan Correia:

Well, I mean, also fuck anyone who's like,

James Jay Edwards:

I'm making fun of my fringe horror list

Jonathan Correia:

Do you guys notice sci-fi fans never do

James Jay Edwards:

Oh, there wasn't enough kissing in that

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah,

Jonathan Correia:

I didn't feel it was that romantic, so it's

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah. Why? Why did there's only horror seem to

James Jay Edwards:

Because there's more gatekeepers in

Jonathan Correia:

It's like It's like how the people who hate

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah. Well, we're on the same wavelength

Jonathan Correia:

Same same with Star Trek, dude. Like I was seasons. Deep Space 9 like and it was still one of the and it

James Jay Edwards:

Just because they're not trecking doesn't

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah, sure. Same with horror. Just because your finger out of your ass. Anyways, Promising Young Woman And then some and and I and my family can attest to it. It's But it's such perfect use of it. And then the soundtrack, it about how He's, uh, they're singing about like, Oh, he's a

Jacob Davidson:

And I'm surprised at what an amazing sheer number of people of name actors who showed up and just he goes dad mode, he goes 100% dad mode and it's great.

Jonathan Correia:

Listen, I just I want Jennifer Coolidge and the American Cinematheque q&a with her and the and the

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, Emerald Fennell. Yeah. The American

Jonathan Correia:

it was one of the best QnA's I've been a part the situation and stuff like that. And I was like, "fuck do I

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah. They raised up a lot of points that,

Jonathan Correia:

And how about that a revenge film where she

Jacob Davidson:

But yeah, because that was the great thing

James Jay Edwards:

Well, the beginning of the movie The first

Jonathan Correia:

I was still questioning it towards the end. like, when it comes down to she's like, what would people could, I could, you know, scare the crap out of them. I could do

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, that was definitely worth seeing at the

James Jay Edwards:

Mm hm. And also go into it as blind as it a lot more.

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah, it's, it's extremely good. And bring

Jacob Davidson:

Speaking of family movies, Psycho Gorman,

James Jay Edwards:

I think we've talked enough about PG though,

Jonathan Correia:

No! Go see it!

James Jay Edwards:

Oh, no, definitely go see it.

Jacob Davidson:

There is no such thing about talking about PG too

James Jay Edwards:

Definitely go see it. But you could listen to

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, I did mention it. Although I did get thing I really wanted to experience PG with a crowd

James Jay Edwards:

It is one that I wish that I had seen in a

Jacob Davidson:

No, definitely.

James Jay Edwards:

I had to watch it on a computer boo.

Jonathan Correia:

And the Alamo Drafthouse group watches are a performance to beforehand and after and stuff, but like the of like experience of being with a group again, watching a crappy

Jacob Davidson:

I missed that. I'm going to try and relive that

Jonathan Correia:

Oh, awesome.

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah. And for those of you who don't know, the Russian Roulette, because you know, sometimes, you know, first to see what Friday night frights is putting together on the slate

Jonathan Correia:

Nice. Have you guys seen Synchronic?

Jacob Davidson:

Yes, I saw that'd Beyond fest.

James Jay Edwards:

I do not.

Jonathan Correia:

You haven't?

James Jay Edwards:

Oh, do you need you though? That's that's

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah. I watched that the other day definitely need to go back. It's definitely more hardcore sci-fi wrapper for synchronic near them. And it turns out that the Having a synthetic drug that no one really explains what it does

Jacob Davidson:

But dude, did you see the movie like, like the

Jonathan Correia:

I said my stupid lizard brain

Jacob Davidson:

you're gonna travel back in time and get like

Jonathan Correia:

Hey, man, it's not like it's not like I'm you Like we should not be doing this. But again, my stupid for cheap too. So I highly recommend that

James Jay Edwards:

there's this new movie that just got added to

Jacob Davidson:

Not yet. Although I did see that on the

James Jay Edwards:

I actually got a screener for it. For just, it's really it's almost very student filmy like it's, really well done. It's just a little too out there. I think of like a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and the three really it's not really a horror movie at all. But it is right above Wolf Walkers.

Jonathan Correia:

This 2020 was the year for wolf based

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, there was a few there.

Jonathan Correia:

Damn. Yeah, I just added that to my watch

James Jay Edwards:

It's really crazy. And the thing is, it's you if it was like an epic, but it's, it's really well done

Jacob Davidson:

Speaking of the new year, I have one resolution had really should have seen years ago. Is the Coen Brothers'

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah,

Jacob Davidson:

yeah, no, it just and it is interesting too, conspiracies, but just just in general though, it's just such

Jonathan Correia:

Was it a double feature cuz that's an

Jacob Davidson:

yes it was I watched it back to back on HBO

Jonathan Correia:

Yes. Okay,

Jacob Davidson:

I'm just going through my letterboxd here

Jonathan Correia:

that's that's an awesome double feature just that's one of my resolutions to is calm down on the rewatches director of most of the Rocky movies so it's just like man I

James Jay Edwards:

my letterboxd end of year most watched I'm like, Oh, he's good. But I wouldn't say he's my favorite.

Jonathan Correia:

Man. I just watched Widows again the other Widows again. Because Oh, God, damn, everyone was full arms too. Goddamn. And then it was just like, okay, so out of

James Jay Edwards:

Well, let's, let's, I'm gonna be the king of already knows where I'm going with this. I got to see the in. Because Yeah, it is so intense. And it is so good. It Give me my screener because it actually opens finally is going screener. I still have two more views left on it. I think I'm

Jacob Davidson:

Wow.

James Jay Edwards:

It is it's incredible. And it's it's, it's

Jonathan Correia:

It's so tight. Like it's it. There's no like everything just happens so quickly, but also so perfectly

James Jay Edwards:

Exactly. It's It's It's not really an edge of

Jonathan Correia:

but you never look at your watch like it does.

James Jay Edwards:

It's kind of a slow burn. It's a slow burn is

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah, it was very hard for me to not have like to my favs like, all times for last year just like

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah man it just the way you guys are hyping it

Jonathan Correia:

well the funny thing is I just have to wait a

James Jay Edwards:

It's been two days since I've watched it it's

Jonathan Correia:

It is funny to think about like our what we're

Jacob Davidson:

antlers is finally coming out you got antlers you got Halloween kills Candy Man candy yes like basically living at the cinemas. If it's safe of actually I wasn't even thinking movies for for the first thing current gen consoles because originally it sounded like it play it but thank thankfully it will be on PlayStation four as know, usually Resident Evil with like zombies and humans and version zombies. So they're like ghouls and they got swords and claws.

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah, everyone went super Dr. Psycho with that

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah. Now just people love giant women. You

Jonathan Correia:

It does look like an awesome, like, more in

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, yeah,

Jonathan Correia:

classic euro feel. But I can't I can't bring

Jacob Davidson:

yeah, now right Resident Evil village so that scary as hell.

James Jay Edwards:

I know that my most anticipated movie of the On the one hand, I'm really happy that they seem to be

Jonathan Correia:

and just me in the back eating the crispiest of

James Jay Edwards:

You with your 3d Doritos.

Jonathan Correia:

They're not hollow. They're just nothing

James Jay Edwards:

I want I want that experience again. But that of critics out there who has seen a quiet place part two, and

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, I was gonna say two It was so surreal happened.

James Jay Edwards:

Yeah. Oh, hopefully it doesn't get pushed

Jonathan Correia:

I just got super hyped on two releases. And it's from the creators of Banshee and others. But it's so for us. And the reason why I'm getting super hyped is because subzero like it's gonna be it's gonna be awesome I'm

Jacob Davidson:

trailer for Mortal Kombat drops next week

Jonathan Correia:

I think so. But that's definitely gonna be a were a lot of fun but want to see a new brutal, you know, things that's making me want to go risk everything with COVID

James Jay Edwards:

I did not see that.

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah, it's like it's like a quick frame. cool.

James Jay Edwards:

How did he get a battleaxe?

Jonathan Correia:

I can't watch anything out. I know the trailer

Jacob Davidson:

I was gonna say the trailer dropped while we

Jonathan Correia:

No,

Jacob Davidson:

yeah,

Jonathan Correia:

no,

James Jay Edwards:

no, we're all gonna do the second we hit stop.

Jonathan Correia:

Actually, we're gonna pause for the next took was a battle ax to to like just push me over the like I'm the big one

Jacob Davidson:

that an IMAX dammit.

James Jay Edwards:

Yeah. 4DX.

Jacob Davidson:

Yes. 4DX IMAX.

James Jay Edwards:

they're fighting on that aircraft

Jonathan Correia:

Yes. When Kong gets hit, I want to feel his sweat just pour over me

Jacob Davidson:

You and your 4DX sweat you just keep on going on

James Jay Edwards:

you keep coming back to 4dx sweat. Dude,

Jonathan Correia:

the only movie I have seen in 4DX was pet But no one was sweating that movie so I didn't get any spray.

Jacob Davidson:

Either way, we are super excited for Kong Vs.

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah, that's, uh, yeah. battleaxe, man.

James Jay Edwards:

Are we getting a Halloween movie this

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, they're, they're marketed for October and releases, because it's not Like a prime movie month, I guess.

James Jay Edwards:

Well, usually it is for horror. Usually to get

Jacob Davidson:

I don't know just like Well, I mean last like

James Jay Edwards:

No. Well, there wasn't a lot of anything

Jacob Davidson:

Oh, well I mean like the October before that I way now they just like every horror movie is gonna be coming

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah.

Jacob Davidson:

Because like, we saw so many trailers for that

James Jay Edwards:

And another one that guy pushed Yeah, and

Jacob Davidson:

yeah. But it does look just it just them even more,

Jonathan Correia:

I just want everything to be I know we were days. Wear your goddamn masks, wash your hands. And pull your

James Jay Edwards:

God. All right, what else are we I feel wife got me a surround system so that I could pretend I'm in a

Jacob Davidson:

I'm seeing it at the drive-in and just to get it

Jonathan Correia:

I don't know what makes you guys think I'm rereleased. Hopefully, you know, like, it's gonna happen, but

James Jay Edwards:

I thought it was Kong Vs. Godzilla. But did

Jonathan Correia:

I don't know. Godzilla vs. Kong is what it's

Jacob Davidson:

Godzilla vs. Kong. Godzilla gets top billing.

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah, this time because before King Kong

James Jay Edwards:

an up and comer.

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah. He was the king Kong was way more He won in the American version. No, that's a myth. He won in every version. King Kong was

Jacob Davidson:

had the ape aliens. Now that was Godzilla

Jonathan Correia:

There we go. Versus mecha Godzilla. Yeah.

Jacob Davidson:

And also just, there's a Japanese Planet of the

Jonathan Correia:

time of the Apes.

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah,

Jonathan Correia:

I saw that as a kid thinking it wasn't. me. I

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, I guess that's the thing that just so so

James Jay Edwards:

Yeah, it's hard to get excited, because

Jacob Davidson:

I do. Gotta say if things are, you know, at a

James Jay Edwards:

Yeah,

Jonathan Correia:

I missed. I missed all the festivities.

Jacob Davidson:

going on March. It's almost a year.

Jonathan Correia:

Yeah. I mean, it's been a year since like,

Jacob Davidson:

well, they Yeah, they first detected in January

Jonathan Correia:

Until then. You can just keep repeat.

James Jay Edwards:

there are still a ton of road rage and

Jonathan Correia:

That's just my usual 3am viewing

Jacob Davidson:

it's your ASMR

James Jay Edwards:

is kind of messed up that it is but yes, it

Jacob Davidson:

It's like a lullaby. But um, yeah, and

Jonathan Correia:

Congratulations dude

Jacob Davidson:

yeah, it only took eight years.

James Jay Edwards:

Wasn't this like a big anniversary? One,

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah. Two is the eight year anniversary. And we

Jonathan Correia:

feels good. Dude. I'm so proud of you.

Jacob Davidson:

Yeah, no, it's like insanely difficult. And, final exam trivia, and I'm sure there's, like one or maybe be plenty more events and, you know, between trivia or like,

Jonathan Correia:

as always just remembering everybody we're in

James Jay Edwards:

Yeah, we haven't said that in a while.

Jonathan Correia:

whatever you need to do to get on the other categorization title. Just because something doesn't scare

James Jay Edwards:

because it probably scares somebody else.

Jonathan Correia:

Even if it doesn't, it's still horror like

James Jay Edwards:

remember this scary hand on Sesame Street gave

Jonathan Correia:

Hey man, ghost is still the movie that

James Jay Edwards:

so right on Alright, let's get out of here.
